| GApo-A
Apolipoprotein A (APO-A) is the primary structural protein of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and plays a critical role in lipid metabolism and cardiovascular health. APO-A facilitates the clearance of cholesterol deposits from blood vessel walls by binding cholesterol and promoting its reverse transport to the liver for metabolism. The APO-A family includes subtypes such as A1, A2, A4, and A5, among which Apo A1 is the most significant, constituting over 70% of HDL's total protein content. Apo A1 activates the lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT) enzyme to drive reverse cholesterol transport, shuttling cholesterol from peripheral tissues to the liver for metabolism, thereby counteracting atherosclerosis.| Typical data
