| GR-α

Glucocorticoid receptor alpha (GR-α) is a class of subtypes of the glucocorticoid receptor, the other being GRβ. Both are the result of the same transcriptional product of the glucocorticoid receptor gene being sheared by different shearing modes. The latter binds to DNA but not to steroids, and may therefore act as an inhibitor of steroids by interfering with the binding of GRα to DNA.The first 727 amino acids of GRα and GRβ are identical, and from amino acid 728 onwards there is a 50-amino acid sequence for GRα, whereas there is only a 15-amino acid sequence for GRβ. At the mRNA level, both contain exons 1 through 8, differing in that GRα contains exon 9α while GRβ contains exon 9β.

| Recovery

The recovery of Rat GR-α spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.

| Linearity

Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Rat GR-α and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.
