| s-ACE

Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) is a core component of the renin-angiotensin system (RAS), which controls blood pressure by regulating the volume of fluid in the body. It converts the hormone angiotensin I into the active vasoconstrictor angiotensin II. Therefore, ACE indirectly increases blood pressure by constricting blood vessels. ACE inhibitors are widely used as drugs for treating cardiovascular diseases. Other less well-known functions of ACE are the degradation of bradykinin, substance P and amyloid - β protein.

| Recovery

The recovery of Human s-ACE spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.

| Linearity

Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Human s-ACE and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.
