| HBsAb

Hepatitis B surface antibodies are protective antibodies primarily produced when the hepatitis B surface antigen stimulates the body's immune system. Their presence neutralizes the hepatitis B virus within the body. When the hepatitis B virus invades the body, it stimulates an immune response. B lymphocytes within the immune system differentiate into effector B cells (plasma cells), which secrete a specific immunoglobulin G—the surface antibody. This antibody binds specifically to the surface antigen. Working in conjunction with other immune functions within the body, it can eliminate the virus, preventing further infection by the hepatitis B virus. Therefore, the surface antibody is termed a protective antibody.

The recovery of Rabbit HBsAb spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.

Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Rabbit HBsAb and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.
